Buzzword Bucket

My parents gave me my first computer in 1983, forty years ago at the time of this writing. Following is a partial list of technologies, platforms, libraries, and other industry buzzwords that have been a part of my journey in computing and software development since then. I have tried to list the items in each section in chronological order by usage (not by origin of the technology or platform), from my very first computer to current day. A lot can be forgotten over 40 years, so there may still be things that I’ve used that are not listed here. I haven’t listed things like telnet, ftp, ls, cp, etc. as their usage should be implied with certain environments, and even an abbreviated listing could run for several pages.
